CLOSTRIDIUM XVI

The International Conference on the Genetics, Physiology, and Synthetic Biology of Solvent- and Acid-Forming Clostridia

The International Conference on the Genetics, Physiology, and Synthetic Biology of Solvent- and Acid-Forming Clostridia

June ~ September, 2022, Qingdao, China

September 16th-18th, 2020
Qingdao, China

Dear colleagues and friends,

We hope you and your families are all staying safe and healthy during this pandemic.

With great regret, the committee has again decided to postpone the 16th International Conference on the Genetics, Physiology, and Synthetic Biology of Solvent- and Acid-Forming Clostridia (Clostridium XVI) to 2022 (Jun~Sep), same city in Qingdao, China.

The prognosis for the pandemic does not allow us to organize the conference in a face to face way as scheduled in September 2021.

However, online meetings can never fully substitute regular meetings, all the committees agree that interpersonal contact is foundational to the Clostridium meetings which helped to build links and networks with many scientists and friends all over the world. In principle, with the development and vaccination of COVID-19 vaccine around the world, regular international exchanges and visits will be possible in another year. Therefore, the conference has been rescheduled between June and September 2022. We thank you for understanding the difficulty of this decision during this unprecedented time, and for your commitment to the success of this conference. Looking forward to welcoming you to Qingdao in 2022.

More details can be found on the regularly updated conference website http://clostridiumxvi.org/index.html. Should you require any assistance or clarify, please do not hesitate to contact the organizing secretariat at clostridium@qibebt.ac.cn.

Kind regards, Fu-Li Li

To date, the Clostridium conferences have become the leading international forum for presentation and discussion of new findings and developments in this field. It is anticipated that this conference will be the largest one, and topics will cover both academic and industrial interests. In this conference, leading experts from Clostridium research field are invited to present their exciting research under the theme of (1) Physiology and Genetics, (2) Synthetic Biology, Genetic Tools, and Omics, (3) Metabolic Engineering, and (4) Feedstock Utilization and Ecology.
